Table project

This is a little table someone gave to me. It had old chippy brown paint covering the entire thing along with a touch of old beat up wall paper glued to the top. After a bit of scraping off wallpaper and glue from the top, and a little light sanding I waited for the snow to melt outside.

Once we got a super warm day, last weekend it was my lucky day, as Ace Hardware was having a sale on sample paints. I contemplated adding the Plaster of Paris to try making my own chalkpaint, but looking at the price of 8 dollars, plus the sample paints at 99 cents each, well i chose just the paint this time around.

It is all about recreating something old in need of a facelift, on the lowest budget possible right?unless you are a plastic surgeon, then please for the sake of beauty, ignore that statement, This applies to furniture and recycling inanimate objects only! and… That requires creativity many times, on a budget.

So table was free, sandpaper cost a few dollars, but didnt take a lot. and paint samples were 99 cents each per can, I bought 7 of them, would have bought 8, 4 per customer and i took a friend along to ensure i could get more than 4 cause that is the way to save money right? but at 7 i was tired, hungry and just wanted to get home to try the colors i already picked and could not decide on one more last color that day. The sale is good through the end of March. 🙂

so anyways, after not painting all winter, kinda seems like a lost the hang of painting. But after a few more projects am sure It will all come back to me. This is my first attempt this year! am waiting for the paint to cure, before adding the touch up finishing details. first painted project of 2015
